The time has come to say good bye to the powerful, full of changes, crazy year of the Dragon. We now welcome the Year of the Snake (starts February 10th 2013 and lasts till January 30th 2014). The Element is Water and the color is Black, so we are heading for the Water Black Snake Year. This year is associated with: Yin, the North, winter, black color, cold weather and nighttime. We are in a feminine year characterized as slow, soft, cold and passive. The lucky element of the year will be the Black Tortoise and the lucky number of the year will be 6. Dark colors (dark blue, dark green and black) are favored this year and try to avoid as much as possible red and yellow. The motto this year is: “Slow and steady wins the race”.
It is supposed to be a quiet and peaceful year with no major hurdles. The year is seen as a very good one for major inside transformation. Remember the snake is shedding his skin and like him, we must get rid of the past and take care of ourselves and produce an inner revolution. This revolution will imply a change of heart, a tone of forgiveness and healing. We will have a chance to release past blockages and go on for a brighter future.
The snake is an assiduous creature. He prefers quiet predictability and steady work done in the shadow. Quiet, peace and diligence is also a Saturn preference.
